I’m starting a work in progress posts in the next coming days of a how-to, on building the 1/25 2015 Dallara Chevy resin model kit that we offer HERE
I’ll be showing step-by-step on how to construct this kit properly. I’ll be building the 2015 Winner – Juan Pablo Montoya
Decals can be found at Indycals
The first thing I always do with every resin kit, is clean it with Oven Cleaner.
I like to use Easy Off Professional Fume Free Max Oven Cleaner, Lemon 24 oz Can
Doing this gets any grease or oil off the resin from the casting process.
Then using a Scotch-Brite Heavy Duty Scour Pads
to scuff up the surface is a must for any paint to adhere. It’s extremely important to do this or your paint will chip off if you spray over a shiny surface.
I recommend using Gorilla Glue to attach the undertray on first. After that use the file and clean up any rough sports and apply Apoxie-Sculpt to any gap or air pocket. Be sure to take the high grit file and sand the bottom of the undertray, flush.
Use Bondo glazing and spot filler putty for any small pin hole or rough spot on the surface. All we are worried about right now id cleaning and touch ups. Next will be Primering.
To be continued……
